LONDON — Police have announced a £20,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of Abdul Shakoor Izedi, an Afghan refugee accused of an acid attack on a mother and her daughters.
On Monday, officials emphasized the reward for information regarding Izedi’s whereabouts. The ongoing investigation has suggested that there are individuals with crucial information who have not yet come forward. Authorities warned that anyone assisting Izedi in evading capture would also face arrest.
Commander Jon Savell thanked the public for their significant contributions and reiterated the £20,000 reward for information leading to Izedi’s arrest. He warned, “Anyone aiding Izedi’s evasion will be arrested.”
British police released images last Wednesday of Izedi, suspected of attacking a woman and her two daughters with a corrosive substance in South London’s Clapham area.
The Guardian reports that Izedi, an Afghan asylum seeker, entered Britain illegally in 2016.
London police have described Izedi as dangerous and advised the public not to approach him.
The motive behind the attack remains unclear.
