MER-C, the hospital’s owner, shared distressing footage of the chaotic scenes at the facility. They revealed that casualties, both deceased and wounded, started streaming in within minutes after a thunderous explosion resulting from a nearby Israeli airstrike. They further cautioned that the death toll could potentially surpass 120.
Reuters independently verified the location by matching signage and the hospital’s interior design, comparing them with archived images.
On Thursday, November 2, a group of independent United Nations experts issued a call for a humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza, stressing the urgency of the situation for Palestinians who face a “grave risk of genocide.”
According to Gaza health authorities, the Israeli attacks have claimed the lives of at least 9,061 individuals since October 7, when Hamas militants launched an incursion into southern Israel, resulting in the deaths of 1,400 people, mostly civilians, and the abduction of over 240 hostages in the attacks.
