In a recent development, the European Union has dedicated an additional €15 million to facilitate the return of Afghans to their homeland.

The funds will be channeled through the International Organization of Migration (IOM), as stated in an official EU announcement.

The EU expressed its commitment, stating, “Collaborating with the IOM, our goal is to ensure that returnees experience safety and have access to the necessary support to reintegrate into their homeland.”

This allocation comes as the Pakistani government’s deadline for the expulsion of undocumented migrants approaches, a decision with far-reaching implications for over 1.7 million Afghan immigrants residing in Pakistan.
