Iran thwarts ’30 simultaneous potential attacks’ in Tehran

Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence revealed in a statement on Sunday that it has thwarted a series of at least 30 potential simultaneous attacks in Tehran.

The operations led to the arrest of 28 individuals with affiliations to the extremist group Daesh.

According to the statement, these suspects were arrested from Tehran, Alborz and western Azerbaijan.

The individuals in custody were found to have connections with Daesh militants in several countries within the region, including Afghanistan and Syria, the statement said.
