Taliban intelligence has halted the broadcasts of Rah-e-Farda radio and television in Kabul, according to sources familiar with the matter.

The suspension was linked to remarks by Mohammad Mohaqiq, a prominent political leader, now in exile, criticizing the Taliban’s recent retaliatory attacks against Pakistan, the sources told Amu TV. They said Taliban intelligence officials ordered the outlet to stop broadcasting.

At the same time, the sources said, Taliban authorities took control of two of Mohaqiq’s residences in the Sarkariz area of Kabul. The circumstances of the move were not immediately clear.

Taliban have not publicly commented on the reported actions.

Rah-e-Farda was established 19 years ago by the Islamic Unity Party of the People of Afghanistan, led by Mohaqiq. According to the sources, the outlet had continued operating in recent months in line with Taliban media policies.

In comments following the Taliban’s retaliatory strikes against Pakistan, Mohaqiq described the escalation as “adventurism” and said the Taliban were drawing “our dear compatriots into an unwanted war and bloodshed.”

Taliban also suspended the outlet’s activities last year, citing complaints over unpaid staff salaries. The station later resumed operations.
