Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Afghanistan’s wicketkeeper-batter is expected to be given the all clear to play in Saturday’s T20 World Cup match against England.
According to the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) Gurbaz, who was hit in the left foot during a warm up match against Pakistan on Wednesday, underwent scans at a hospital in Brisbane.
“Team doctor stated that the results are clear with no bone fracture,” the ACB said in a statement on Twitter.
“He will be assessed in the next two days and is expected to be available for our fixture on Saturday” against England, the ACB said.
Gurbaz was hit by a yorker from Pakistani pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi in the early stages of the warm-up game between the two teams at the Gabba. The match was eventually abandoned due to rain.
