KABUL— Amid the ongoing Taliban ban on girls’ education, the Afghan Women Leaders Forum has launched a new campaign advocating for girls’ right to learn, urging parents and the international community to take action.
In a statement on Saturday, the Forum announced that the campaign will run from March 8 to December 10, 2025, marking International Women’s Day and culminating on Human Rights Day.
The initiative, launched with the participation of several human rights activists, aims to mobilize parents to speak out in support of their daughters’ education.
Using the hashtag “Education is Our Daughters’ Right”, the campaign seeks to draw global attention to the plight of Afghan girls, who have been barred from attending school beyond sixth grade since the Taliban returned to power in 2021.
The Forum also called on the international community to amplify Afghan women’s voices and push for access to education as a fundamental right.
