Taliban confiscate electronic devices from educational center in Daikundi: Sources

DAIKUNDI, Afghanistan — Taliban have seized all electronic equipment from the Sadat-e Jadid Educational Institute in Daikundi province and shut down its office in the Lal wa Sarjangal district of neighboring Ghor province, sources told Amu on Wednesday.

While Taliban have reportedly released all detained employees of the institute, two senior officials—Sulaiman Ehsani, the provincial head in Bamyan, and Mohsen Saadat, the provincial head in Daikundi—remain in custody.

The crackdown follows a similar incident earlier this month. On Jan. 14, local sources in Daikundi said the Taliban had arrested five officials from the New Horizon Human Development Institute. According to sources, the arrests were carried out by Taliban intelligence forces.

Amu TV attempted to obtain a comment from the Sadat-e Jadid Educational Institute but has not been successful.
