Afghanistan’s men’s volleyball team secured its first victory in the Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA) Championship on Sunday, defeating the Maldives 3-0.
The win, which came during Afghanistan’s third match of the tournament, was a significant morale boost after the team lost its first two matches to Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.
The championship, hosted in Uzbekistan, brings together teams from across Central Asia, with Afghanistan now looking to build on its success in the upcoming rounds.
