Taliban beheads animal, bird sculptures in Herat

Taliban removed the heads from bird and animal sculptures in Herat province on Wednesday, according to sources who spoke with Amu.

This follows earlier actions by the Taliban, which included a ban on the use of mannequins in shops, requiring store owners to decapitate the mannequins.

The move is part of the Taliban’s strict interpretation of Islamic law, which prohibits the depiction of living beings.
