Sources: Taliban’s Tajik commander Ajmal Kohi arrested

Ajmal Kohi, a Tajik commander within the Taliban, has been arrested by the Taliban’s intelligence forces in Faryab province in northern Afghanistan, sources told Amu TV on Tuesday.

Kohi is known for killing four NATO soldiers during their presence in Afghanistan.

According to sources, Kohi was initially captured by NATO forces after the 2011 incident in northern Afghanistan and was held for five years at Bagram Air Base.

After his release from Bagram, Kohi rejoined the Taliban with dozens of his followers and continued to fight for the group until its return to power in 2021.

Several of Kohi’s close associates, including one of his sons, were killed in combat during this period.
