Two workers died following the collapse of a gold mine in the northeastern province of Badakhshan on Saturday.
Taliban police command in Badakhshan in a statement reported that the mine, located in the Arghanjkhwa district, collapsed while the workers were sifting for gold.
The bodies of the miners were recovered with the help of local residents, according to the statement.
The Taliban police identified the site of the incident as the Taqarcha area of Arghanjkhwa district.
This comes after three other mine workers were killed in a gold mine in the same province last week.
