In a continuation of public corporal punishment, Taliban on Monday flogged six individuals, including a woman, in Logar and Parwan provinces.

According to a statement from the Taliban-run Supreme Court, four men in Parwan, north of Kabul, were flogged on charges of sodomy.

Each of the individuals received 39 lashes in public.

The statement added that three of the men were also sentenced to one year in prison, while the fourth was given a two-year sentence.

In a separate incident, two individuals, including a woman, were publicly flogged in Logar province for allegedly fleeing their homes. Each received 39 lashes.

Taliban stated that these individuals were also sentenced to five years in prison.

Over the past two weeks, Taliban has publicly flogged at least 26 people in various provinces.

Despite criticism from international organizations and human rights groups, including the United Nations, Taliban continues to carry out public corporal punishment, particularly floggings.

Data collected by Amu TV indicates that in the nearly three years since the Taliban returned to power, the Taliban-run Supreme Court has ordered the stoning of 37 people and the public flogging of more than 610 others, including 107 women.
