A traffic accident in Afghanistan’s Ghor province on Tuesday left four people dead and 14 others injured, according to a Taliban statement.
The incident occurred in the Lal wa Sarjangal district, where a vehicle overturned, said Abdul Rahman Badri, a spokesperson for the Taliban’s police command in Ghor.
He noted that the condition of seven of the injured is “critical.”
This comes as traffic accidents have increased in various parts of the country in last few months.
Officials from the Taliban-controlled traffic department have attributed most of these accidents to reckless driving and excessive speed. The recent statistics highlight a significant increase in casualties from traffic incidents across Afghanistan.
