On World Refugee Day, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) reported that globally, one person is displaced every three seconds due to violence, war, and persecution.
Today, June 20, marks World Refugee Day, an occasion dedicated to raising awareness about the plight of refugees worldwide.
According to IOM statistics, currently, one in every 114 people on Earth is a refugee.
The IOM also reported that there are 40.3 million internally displaced persons and 22.5 million refugees who have fled to other countries.
Meanwhile, the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) has identified Syria, Afghanistan, and Sudan as the primary countries with the highest number of refugees.
