Floods in the northern provinces of Faryab and Sar-e-Pul have claimed the lives of 15 people, according to local sources.
The floods struck these provinces on Wednesday night, May 22.
Sources told Amu News that the floods in Faryab took the lives of nine people.
According to these sources, the bodies of eight others are still missing.
The sources also warned that the death toll could rise.
The floods occurred in the villages of Khwaja Hashtomin and Gharji in the Lolash district of Faryab province.
The media office of the Taliban governor in Faryab confirmed these figures.
Meanwhile, in Sar-e-Pul province, six people, including five women and one child, died due to the floods.
