Huda Khomosh, founder of a women’s rights movement, confirmed Sunday that Manizha Siddiqi, a women’s rights activist, has been released from Taliban prison after nearly seven months.
Her release coincided with the Taliban freeing more than 400 prisoners from Pul-e-Charkhi prison on the occasion of Eid, by order of their leader, Hibatullah Akhundzada.
Among the more than 400 prisoners, 50 women, including Siddiqi, were released, Khomosh said.
