The Taliban-run Ministry of Transport and Aviation announced Thursday that Herat International Airport has grounded flights for the past three days due to snowfall.
The ministry explained that visibility at the airport has been severely limited by the snowfall, making it impossible for planes to land or take off.
The ministry said in a statement that flights will remain grounded at the airport until the weather conditions improve.
This grounding comes as heavy snowfalls have blocked many key routes across Afghanistan in recent days.
