The Tatarstan government has committed to assisting in the training of Afghanistan’s athletes and coaches, as per a statement from the Taliban-run Afghanistan National Olympic Committee.
Abdulhaq Wasiq, head of the committee, met with Khalil Shaikhutdinov, deputy of the Tatarstan Sport Ministry, during his visit to the region. The two discussed sports cooperation, with Shaikhutdinov indicating Tatarstan’s readiness to train Afghan athletes at their sports institutions.
