MIRANSHAH, North Waziristan — Mohsin Dawar, a former member of Pakistan’s National Assembly, was injured in a shooting incident in Miranshah, North Waziristan, officials confirmed.
The incident occurred during a protest by the National Democratic Movement (NDM) over delayed election results outside the Miranshah Cantonment, said Bushra Gohar, a senior NDM leader.
Party members reported that police and army personnel fired shots and used tear gas during the demonstration.
Police confirmed Dawar’s injury in the incident and reported that his condition is stable and not life-threatening.
