The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has appointed former national player Ahmad Shah Sulimankhil as the interim chief selector for the national cricket team.
In a statement, the ACB noted Sulimankhil’s extensive experience with the board, including roles as Chief Selector in 2011, Domestic Cricket Manager in 2013, a member of the Selection Committee from 2017 to 2019, and International Performance Coordinator in 2023.
The appointment follows Afghanistan’s strong performance in last year’s World Cricket Cup. However, the under-19 team faced criticism for its performance in the U19 World Cup.
