PARK CITY, Utah — Dozens of pro-Palestinian protesters gathered at the Sundance Film Festival on Sunday, blocking a street at the renowned annual event.
The demonstrators chanted slogans and displayed banners demanding an end to the ongoing conflict in Gaza, with several signs referring to the conflict as “genocide.”
Actress Melissa Barrera reportedly joined the protest, according to local media. Barrera was previously removed from the ‘Scream 7’ project in late 2023 due to her stance on the Israel-Hamas conflict.
Sundance Festival organizers have not issued a statement regarding the protests.
