In a demonstration calling for a ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas conflict, hundreds of pro-Palestinian protesters gathered in New York on Monday, showcasing a vivid scene as they marched along 50th Street in Midtown Manhattan.
The crowd, adorned with flags and signs proclaiming messages like “All I want for Christmas is a ceasefire now!” drew attention to the ongoing tensions in the region.
Despite the peaceful nature of the protest, a spokesperson from the New York Police Department (NYPD) reported that “Several individuals” were taken into custody during the demonstration.
Additionally, one officer sustained minor injuries. The NYPD acted swiftly, bringing the situation under control, and ensuring the successful dispersal of the demonstration without further escalation.
