Late on Sunday night, health officials reported that an Israeli tank shell hit the maternity building inside Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, resulting in the death of a 13-year-old girl.
Gaza resident UM Yusuf recounted the horrifying incident, stating, “We were sitting inside, and I was putting my daughter to sleep. My neighbors, the Abu Mohsen family, were being treated for their injuries. Suddenly, we saw smoke and rubble on us. It was difficult to see anything through the thick smoke. I held my daughter tight and started screaming, calling out for help. I jumped out of bed and rushed outside. The mother of the girl who was killed (in the shelling) sustained head injuries.”
According to Ashraf Al-Qidra, the spokesman for the Gaza health ministry, the shell penetrated the wall but did not explode.
