A symposium, “Rebuilding Afghan Media In Exile: Challenges, Opportunities, and the Path Forward” on Thursday convened in Berlin, addressing the plight of Afghan journalists in exile and strategies to bolster their media presence.
Organized by the European Fund for Journalism in Exile, the two-day event drew nearly 150 journalists and media activists, exiled from Afghanistan and now residing across Europe, Canada, and the United States.
Discussions focused on establishing and rebuilding exiled media platforms.
Penelope Winterhager, head of JX Fund, highlighted the symposium’s goal in her opening remarks.
She stressed the importance of sustainably supporting exiled media, positioning the event as crucial for Afghan journalists in exile.
