Tajikistan’s first aid shipment for earthquake victims arrives in Herat

Tajikistan has dispatched its inaugural aid shipment to assist the earthquake-affected populace of Herat, according to a Taliban statement, which added that the assistance convoy reached the western province on Monday.

Zia Ahmad Takal, the spokesperson for the Taliban’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, disclosed that the convoy is brimming with essential supplies, encompassing food, clothing, medicine, reconstruction materials, and various other resources crucial for the recovery process.

The aid distribution, as stated by Takal, will be orchestrated by the Taliban Aid Commission, aimed at efficiently disbursing the aid to the affected individuals.

The devastating earthquakes that shook Herat on October 7 exacted a grim toll, claiming the lives of over 2,000 people while leaving tens of thousands more displaced from their homes.
