Armed men storm Iran police station, kill two officers

A group of armed men stormed a police station in Zahedan in Sistan and Baluchestan province, resulting in a violent clash that ended with the death of two police officers and the attackers.

According to reports from Iranian media, the attack took place on Saturday morning when a group of armed individuals targeted the police station.

Initial information suggested that some attackers were equipped with suicide belts which they detonated.

The deputy security chief of Sistan and Baluchestan province denied there was a suicide.

During the exchange of fire that lasted for several hours, two police officers were killed.

The attack prompted a significant response from security officials in Sistan and Baluchestan province, who swiftly worked to neutralize the situation.

The Iranian Tasnim News Agency reported that the attack ended after all four assailants were killed.

Security officials have confirmed that the situation has been brought under control, bringing an end to the violence at the police station.

So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack in the Sunni Muslim neighborhood.
