Blast targets Taliban deputy governor’s funeral at Badakhshan mosque; at least 12 killed

Sources said an explosion targeted a funeral ceremony for Taliban deputy governor who was killed in Tuesday’s bombing in the city of Faizabad.

At least 12 people were killed and 33 more were wounded in this morning’s blast in Faizabad City Badakhshan province, a Taliban spokesman Moezuddin Ahmadi confirmed.

In a chat with Amu, he rejected reports about the death of the Taliban economy minister in the blast, but he did not comment on whether he has been wounded in the incident.

The blast targeted the funeral of Taliban deputy governor Nisar Ahmad Ahmadi who was killed in a bombing in the same city on Tuesday, June 6. Daesh claimed responsibility for Tuesday attack.

So far, no group has claimed responsibility for Thursday morning’s attack at a mosque in Faizabad city.
