Seven people, including two women, were flogged publicly at a stadium in Zabul province on Wednesday.
One of the women was lashed 39 times and was sentenced to two years in prison for having an affair while another was lashed 40 times and got three years in prison for the same charges.
The men were lashed 20 to 30 times for different crimes.
Meanwhile, at least 20 men were flogged in public in Helmand province on the same day on charges of different crimes.
