Afghanistan’s Under-19 team maintained their perfect start at the ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup with a dominant nine-wicket victory over Tanzania on Wednesday, moving to the top of Group D.
After bowling Tanzania out for 85, Afghanistan chased down the target in just 12.4 overs, finishing on 88 for one and winning with more than 37 overs to spare.
Nasratullah Nooristani led the bowling attack with figures of five for nine from seven overs, as Tanzania were dismissed in 50 overs after winning the toss and choosing to bat. Uzairullah Khan took two for nine, while Wahidullah Zadran and Khatir Stanikzai claimed a wicket each.
In reply, Faisal Khan struck an unbeaten 55 off 34 balls to anchor the chase, with Osman Khan contributing 16. Afghanistan lost only one wicket on their way to victory.
