Roof collapse in Khost kills woman amid heavy rains

A 64-year-old woman was killed and three others, including two children, were injured on Sunday when the roof of a house collapsed in Khost Province, local sources said.

The incident occurred in the village of Isar in Zazi Maidan district, following heavy rain and strong winds that swept through the region.

Local sources told Amu TV that the injured were transported to the provincial hospital in Khost for treatment.

The collapse is the latest in a series of weather-related incidents in the province. In recent days, torrential rain and flash floods have caused widespread damage, affecting homes, infrastructure and farmland.

Afghanistan remains highly vulnerable to seasonal weather events, particularly in rural areas where buildings often lack the structural resilience to withstand storms.
