Qatar says Iranian strike on Al‑Udeid Air Base caused no casualties

DOHA, Qatar — Qatar’s Foreign Ministry reported on Monday that Iran’s recent missile strike on Al‑Udeid Air Base inflicted no casualties, as its air defense systems intercepted and neutralized the incoming threat.

Majid Al‑Ansari, a ministry spokesperson, condemned the attack in a statement, asserting that “Qatari air defense successfully intercepted and neutralized Iranian missiles.”

Al‑Udeid Air Base, located southwest of Doha, serves as the hub for combined air operations across the region and hosts a contingent of approximately 379 U.S. Air Force personnel. The base is a pivotal hub for American military coordination in the Middle East.

Qatar emphasized in its statement that it would intensify diplomatic efforts to “seriously return to the negotiating table and dialogue,” signaling a renewed push for diplomacy amid rising regional tensions.
