KABUL — Afghanistan’s national futsal team has departed for Morocco to participate in a four-nation tournament hosted by the North African country, the country’s football federation announced this week.
The tournament will take place from April 7 to 12 in multiple cities across Morocco and will feature national futsal teams from Afghanistan, Portugal, Morocco, and China.
According to the federation, all matches except the final will be held without live television coverage due to broadcast restrictions in the host country.
In addition to the tournament, the Afghan team is scheduled to play a friendly match against Morocco’s national futsal team on April 14.
The competition marks a key international engagement for Afghanistan’s futsal squad as it continues to seek exposure on the global stage amid limited access to competitive platforms at home.
