The foreign ministry of the United Arab Emirates said that the country’s high-level delegation, during its recent visit to Kabul, reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to humanitarian aid and development cooperation in Afghanistan.
The delegation, led by Saif Mohammed Al Ketbi, the UAE’s special envoy for Afghanistan, visited from April 3 to April 5 and met with Taliban officials, including Abdul Salam Hanafi, the Taliban deputy chief minister for administrative affairs; Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Taliban acting foreign minister; and Nooruddin Azizi, the Taliban acting minister of industry and commerce.
According to the statement, discussions focused on supporting humanitarian and reconstruction efforts, expanding economic cooperation, and advancing development projects that would serve the mutual interests of both countries.
Al Ketbi emphasized the UAE’s continued support for the Afghan people and framed the visit as part of a broader strategy to strengthen historic ties and contribute to regional stability.
He also expressed the UAE’s willingness to work with Afghan authorities on efforts to facilitate the return of Afghan refugees and promote long-term economic collaboration.
