Pakistan deported more than 7,700 Afghan nationals in the past week, according to sources in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The deportees included 1,151 families, comprising 3,081 men, 1,981 women, and 2,640 children.

Sources said that a group of 1,002 people were recently transferred to the Landi Kotal holding camp before being deported through the Torkham crossing. Among them, 580 individuals had no legal documents, while 422 held Afghan Citizen Cards.

According to the same sources, between September 17, 2023, and March 31, 2025, a total of 70,494 Afghan families were returned from Pakistan. In total, 469,159 individuals were deported during that period.

Pakistan has intensified its crackdown on undocumented Afghan migrants in recent months. Videos obtained by Amu TV show deportees alleging that they lack access to food and water during detention and transport.

The Pakistani government has faced growing criticism from human rights organizations for its mass deportation campaign, which has affected tens of thousands of Afghans, including women and children.
