Traffic accidents in three provinces leave five dead

At least five people were killed and more than 20 others injured in three separate traffic accidents across the provinces of Faryab, Nuristan, and Baghlan, Taliban officials said on Saturday.

According to Taliban officials, the first incident occurred in the Almalik area of Pashtunkot district, Faryab province, when a Toyota Corolla collided with two Aqua electric cars. A 10-month-old child was killed and 13 others were injured. They noted that the crash caused significant damage to all three vehicles.

In Nuristan’s Nurgaram district, a Datsun vehicle overturned in the village of Baragosh, killing one child and leaving seven others with minor injuries, officials said.

A third incident took place in the Nahrin district of Baghlan province, where a Saracha-type vehicle overturned on the Sheikh Jalal Pass. Four people, including two women, died in the crash, and two others were injured.

Local Taliban officials cited speeding, driver negligence, and deteriorating road conditions as the primary causes of the accidents.
