A Taliban fighter was killed and two others were wounded following an internal dispute in the northeastern province of Badakhshan, local sources told Amu TV.
The incident reportedly took place on Saturday morning in Ela village, Jurm district, after a verbal altercation broke out among Taliban members at a volleyball ground. According to the sources, the disagreement escalated into a physical confrontation, resulting in gunfire that left one dead and two injured.
The Taliban have not publicly commented on the incident.
The episode comes amid growing public criticism over what residents describe as a lack of discipline and professionalism within Taliban ranks, and concerns about the group’s appointment practices in local security structures.
