Champions Trophy final: New Zealand sets 252-run target for India

LAHORE— New Zealand set a target of 252 for India in the final of the ICC Champions Trophy after posting 251/7 in their 50 overs at Dubai International Stadium on Sunday.

Daryl Mitchell led the batting effort with a composed 63 off 101 balls, supported by Glenn Phillips (34) and Michael Bracewell (53* off 40). New Zealand struggled early, losing wickets at regular intervals, but a lower-order fightback helped them reach a competitive total.

Kuldeep Yadav and Varun Chakravarthy were the standout bowlers for India, claiming two wickets each. Mohammad Shami, despite taking a wicket, was expensive, conceding 74 runs in his nine overs.

With India yet to bat, their win probability stands at 77%, according to match predictions. A strong batting lineup featuring Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will now look to chase the target and secure the title.
