TEHRAN — A traffic accident in Iran’s Sistan and Baluchistan province left one Afghan national dead and 13 others injured, according to the director of the province’s Emergency and Medical Incidents Center.
Ali Abdolrazagh Nejad said the crash occurred on the Saravan road when a Peugeot carrying undocumented Afghan migrants overturned. Speaking to ISNA, he noted that the accident took place on Friday.
Nejad attributed highway accidents in the province to fuel smuggling and human trafficking, both of which, he said, contribute to frequent and often fatal crashes in the region.
