KABUL, Afghanistan — The Logar-Paktia highway has been blocked in the Kotal Tira area due to an avalanche, sources told Amu on Wednesday.
The Taliban-controlled Logar Public Works Department confirmed the incident and said clearing operations are underway. The department urged citizens to avoid traveling on the route until further notice.
Each year, snowfall causes highway and road closures, particularly in rural areas, disrupting transportation.
The highway connects five southeastern provinces to the capital, Kabul.
