Dubai – In a highly anticipated group-stage match of the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, India secured a six-wicket victory over Pakistan at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Pakistan, batting first, posted a total of 241 runs in 50 overs. Saud Shakeel led the scoring with 62 runs, while Mohammad Rizwan contributed 46.
In response, India successfully chased the target, reaching 244 runs in the allotted overs. Star batsman Virat Kohli played a pivotal role, scoring a century to guide his team to victory.
On the bowling front, Kuldeep Yadav took three wickets, while Hardik Pandya claimed two, helping India contain Pakistan’s batting lineup.
Due to security concerns and India’s refusal to send its team to Pakistan, Dubai was chosen as the neutral venue for the tournament.
Pakistan, the defending champion, had previously suffered a 60-run defeat against New Zealand in its opening match, while India had begun its campaign with a win over Bangladesh.
