Pakistan has released eight Afghan migrants who had been detained for lacking legal residency documents, the Taliban-run Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation said in a statement on Tuesday.
The freed individuals returned to Afghanistan through the Spin Boldak border crossing, after spending three months in Pakistani prisons, the ministry said.
According to figures compiled by Amu TV from Taliban government reports, 417 Afghan nationals have been released from Pakistani prisons and repatriated since the beginning of the month.
Meanwhile, Afghan migrants in Pakistan and Iran have complained of mistreatment by law enforcement authorities in both countries, citing harsh conditions and discriminatory treatment.
