ISLAMABAD — Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived in Islamabad on Thursday for a two-day visit, receiving a ceremonial honor guard and a fly-past by Pakistan Air Force jets upon landing.
Erdogan was greeted at the Prime Minister’s House by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, where the two leaders are set to hold bilateral talks.
Later in the day, they will co-chair a meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council (HLSCC), focusing on strengthening bilateral relations, according to Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry.
Turkey and Pakistan have historically maintained close ties, with cooperation spanning defense, trade, and regional security.
