SAMANGAN, Afghanistan — A methane gas explosion at a coal mine in Samangan province has killed three workers, local Taliban officials said.
Hashmatullah Rahmani, a spokesperson for the Taliban’s police command in Samangan, said the incident occurred on Wednesday, February 12, in a coal mine in Dara-e-Suf Bala district.
Taliban officials stated that the bodies of the deceased miners were retrieved from the rubble and handed over to their families.
