Taliban commander among those killed in Kunduz blast, sources say

KUNDUZ, Afghanistan — Zakariya, a Taliban security commander for Kunduz’s Police District 4, was among those killed in the Tuesday morning explosion outside a Kabul Bank branch in the northern city, sources confirmed to Amu.

According to local sources, at least 25 people were killed and 30 others wounded in the blast, which struck the center of Kunduz city.

Taliban officials warn that the death toll may rise as some of the injured remain in critical condition.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, but the Taliban have confirmed the explosion without providing further details.
