The American University of Afghanistan’s (AUAF) has temporarily paused its online classes to adjust its operations as per the orders given by the US government, sources familiar with the matter confirmed on Tuesday.
“AUAF had to pause their online program for short period of time in order to adjust their operations and management regarding the orders given by the US government,” one source said.
According to sources, the operations of the Doha campus of the university had not been affected.
This comes after US President Donald Trump in an executive order stopped his country’s foreign aid to all countries, including Afghanistan, for which it was the biggest donor after the fall of the previous government in August 2021.
The AUAF was established in Kabul in 2006. It resumed its operations from Doha after the fall of the previous government.
