KABUL, Afghanistan — Azmatullah Omarzai, Afghanistan’s national all-rounder, was named the ICC Men’s ODI Player of the Year for 2024.
The Afghanistan Cricket Board lauded Omarzai’s remarkable performance throughout the year, noting that his exceptional contributions were pivotal to the team’s success in One Day International matches.
“Congratulations to our star all-rounder, Azmatullah Omarzai, for being voted the ICC Men’s ODI Player of the Year 2024,” the cricket board said in a statement. “His outstanding all-round performance was key to AfghanAtalan’s success in ODIs throughout 2024.”
The board expressed hope that Omarzai would continue to shine in future competitions, describing his performance as “extraordinary and versatile.”
