KABUL, Afghanistan — Iran’s diplomatic mission in Kabul announced that Abbas Araghchi, the country’s foreign minister, will soon visit Afghanistan.
The statement did not specify the timing or purpose of the visit.
Iran, a key regional player and a neighbor to Afghanistan, maintains close ties with the Taliban. These relations have expanded since the Taliban’s return to power in 2021. However, Tehran has yet to officially recognize the Taliban rule.
