Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS), the country’s electricity provider, announced on Saturday that the technical issue affecting the 220-kilovolt electricity line imported from Turkmenistan to Herat has been resolved, restoring power to the region.
In a statement on its X account, DABS explained that the outage occurred in the Baghr-e-Char area of Kushk Rabat-e-Sangi district in Herat province due to heavy snowfall and storms, which disrupted the supply line.
The power disruption left parts of Herat city in darkness for the past three days.
DABS noted that its technical teams worked tirelessly to address the problem, ensuring the electricity supply was restored to normal.
Herat relies heavily on imported electricity from neighboring Turkmenistan.
