Four killed, 32 injured in blast in Pakistan

At least four people were killed and 32 others injured in a blast that shook the city of Turbat in Pakistan’s Balochistan province on Saturday, according to local media reports.

Police officials confirmed that five of the injured are in critical condition. However, the exact nature of the explosion has not yet been determined.

CCTV footage, reported by Geo News, showed several vehicles traveling on the road when a massive flame engulfed a moving passenger bus following the explosion.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Serious Crime Wing Zohaib Mohsin was among those injured, along with six members of his family who were passing through the area when the blast occurred.

This incident follows a similar attack last month in Turbat’s Dasht area, where two people were killed and four injured in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast, which also damaged a vehicle.

According to the Center for Research and Security Studies’ Annual Security Report, Balochistan witnessed 782 deaths in 2024, accounting for a significant share of Pakistan’s total 2,546 fatalities due to violence.
